This is an old hotel, which I have nothing against. Just an old hotel loses it's quaintness when you're dealing with the 1 and only lift that's the size of a rat hole and can barely take one person and their luggage up to the room. So the alternative is a staircase that is carpeted with a dirty, tacky worn runner and in my mind in need a desperate replacement. Also no hotel parking facilities... meer

I needed to stay just one night in Florence for a congress, and I came by the NH Anglo America Florence. It is really conveniently located, 10 minutes walk from the city centre, and near to the River Arno. The lobby is nice, and the concierge was very kind and professional. I chose this hotel for our last stay in Italy and my birthday because the room and common room photos looked comfortable and "cozy". On check in porter service wasn't offered until we went to use the luggage cart. Having recently returned from a break in Florence, I must say that the Anglo Hotel is one of the best I've stayed at. The hotel has obviously just been refurbished to a really high standard. The buffet breakfast was also delicious and staff always helpful and friendly. Would definately reccomend this hotel in future. meer

This hotel was a good hotel, in a quiet location of Florence. This hotel is not typical of NH, as it is a old building and therefore the style in very regal. The breakfast was a reasonable buffet breakfast! On the negative side, I did feel that the hotel's bedrooms were quite small, unless you get a upgrade. The rooms on the ground floor are rather noisy. We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel, which has been taken over by the NH group. Hotel and rooms are very well maintained and the breakfast was exceptional! The only disadvantage is the location, its almost 20 mins walk from the city center. meer

The hotel was pretty nice but out of the way from the major sights. The walls must be thin since you could hear your neighbors moving around. meer
