We made our way south from Bar Harbor, staying in three inns before concluding at the Old Fort Inn. Each seemed to improve on the former. We stayed at the Old Fort Inn for 1 night in August. We arrived late and were welcomed by David and give suggestions for dinner. His hospitality was appreciated, and the dinner suggestion was wonderful. Our room was beautiful, and spotless. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. The blueberry scones are delicious. We chose this location because on the map it looks close to the beach - but the truth is you can't get near the beach unless you are staying on the other side. We have dinner at Mabels which is down the road - good not great. The breakfast in the AM is really good with lots of options. The Old Fort Inn is a great place to stay while relaxing along the waterfront of Southern Maine. The inn keepers are helpful and unassuming. This inn is located in the middle of a beautiful residential neighborhood. It was very quiet and peaceful place. The innkeepers were very accommodating and also very friendly. The rooms were spacious and yet cozy, clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet was very tasty with a variety of tasty items. This is our third return to Old Fort and I hope we can do it every year. Outstanding accomodations and friendly folks. The breakfasts are boundiful and the pool and tennis courts make for a perfect setting. meer
